Despite ‘El Matador’ joining the UFC two-weight champion list in 2025, the Brazilian star backed Tsarukyan to beat him.

Oliveira believes the Armenian contender has the tools needed to deal with the current UFC lightweight champion.
Topuria captured the lightweight title in 2025, adding it to his achievements after previously holding the featherweight belt.
Meanwhile, Tsarukyan has established himself as one of the leading contenders in the division, but is still waiting for a title shot after his controversial withdrawal from UFC 311 against Islam Makhachev.

Oliveira’s backing of Tsarukyan is notable since he has fought both UFC stars.
While ‘Ahalkalakets’ beat him in a split decision, Topuria knocked out ‘Do Bronx’ inside the first round.
Ilia Topuria’s next fights may delay any clash with Arman Tsarukyan
A fight between Topuria and Tsarukyan does not appear to be close to happening at this stage.
Topuria is reportedly expected to face Justin Gaethje in a bout to unify the UFC lightweight title at the White House card.
The Spaniard has also spoken about his ambition to pursue further challenges in the sport, including the possibility of facing Islam Makhachev for the welterweight championship.

With those plans potentially ahead of him, Tsarukyan may have to wait longer to prove Oliveira right.
