If Chris Hemsworth wanted to shoot the proverbial sh*t about mixed martial arts with a fellow actor, he couldn’t have picked a much better one.
Hemsworth, a professed longtime MMA fan, said in a sit-down Q&A segment with costar Halle Berry for Complex that he’s trained for years – and even has thought about how things would go if he ever stepped in the cage for real.
That’s something Berry did several years ago for a movie she directed and starred in for Netflix, “Bruised,” in which she played a former champion fighter on the rebound. She got in the cage with UFC women’s flyweight champion Valentina Shevchenko to train for the movie and their fight scenes.
Hemsworth and Oscar winner Berry star in the new film “Crime 101,” also starring Mark Ruffalo, Monica Barbaro, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Barry Keogan and. Nick Nolte.
Hemsworth was asked by Berry whom his favorite fighters of all time are, and he said Georges St-Pierre and Alexander Volkanovski are at the top of his list. Berry listed Anderson Silva, Sean O’Malley and Shevchenko, and also relayed a story about an injury she got from the champ.
