Clemson basketball announces 2025-26 nonconference schedule: full dates for Tiger games

by

Clemson basketball officially announced its 2025-26 nonconference schedule Thursday.

Coach Brad Brownell’s Tigers have seven home games in nonconference play, beginning with their season opener against New Hampshire on Nov. 3 at Littlejohn Coliseum. Clemson also hosts Gardner-Webb, Morehead State, North Alabama, Alabama A&M and Mercer, in addition to their annual rivalry with South Carolina.

As was previously announced this summer, the Tigers will visit the Alabama Crimson Tide in a rematch of two programs that met in the Elite Eight in 2024 when they make the trek to Coleman Coliseum in Tuscaloosa for the annual ACC/SEC Challenge in December.

The Tigers will also visit the Georgetown Hoyas at Capital One Arena in Washington on Nov. 15, and head to Madison Square Garden in New York to face BYU in the Jimmy V Classic on Dec. 9.

Clemson will play two games at the Charleston Classic in South Carolina, opening against West Virginia on Nov. 21 and facing either the Georgia Bulldogs or Xavier Musketeers two nights later. They’ll host South Carolina on Dec. 16 and meet Cincinnati to close nonconference play on Dec. 21 at the Greenville Winter Invitational in South Carolina.

While dates for Clemson’s ACC schedule have not been announced, the Tigers know their conference opponents. They’ll face Georgia Tech and Pittsburgh in home-and-away matchups and host Florida State, Miami, NC State, Virginia Tech, Louisville, Boston College and SMU at Littlejohn Coliseum in league play.

Clemson will make road trips to North Carolina, Duke, Wake Forest, Notre Dame, Syracuse, California and Stanford. Virginia is the only ACC school the Tigers won’t play in the regular season either at home or away.

Brownell is set to begin his 16th season as Clemson’s basketball coach. He is the longest tenured coach in the ACC. The Tigers are coming off back-to-back NCAA Tournament appearances.

A season ago, Clemson won a school-record 27 games to finish 27-7 overall and 18-2 in conference play. The Tigers were a No. 5 seed in the NCAA Tournament but fell 69-67 in a first-round upset to McNeese State in Providence, Rhode Island. Clemson was ranked No. 23 in the final USA TODAY Sports Coaches Poll.
