Clemson football’s 2027 recruiting class received another boost this week as one of its top commitments climbed into five-star territory.
247Sports updated its rankings and bumped wide receiver Jamarin Simmons up to a five-star prospect. The standout pass catcher now checks in as the No. 26 overall player in the country and the No. 5 wide receiver in the class.

The promotion further strengthens what has already become one of the nation’s top recruiting classes. Simmons is currently Clemson’s highest-rated pledge in the 2027 cycle and gives Dabo Swinney another elite offensive playmaker to build around.
Simmons has been on Clemson’s radar for quite some time. He was the first receiver in the 2027 class to receive an offer from the Tigers after impressing coaches during camp last summer. He later announced his commitment in May before Clemson’s major official visit weekend.
His junior season showed exactly why recruiting services are so high on him. Simmons totaled 59 receptions for 932 yards and 14 touchdowns while also flashing his versatility by completing both of his pass attempts for 120 yards and a score.
Simmons headlines a receiver group that already includes four-star Trey Wimbley and three-star Julian Cromartie, giving Clemson an impressive collection of pass-catching talent in the 2027 class.
