The Colorado men’s basketball program has undergone plenty of changes over the past few days. Star freshman Isaiah Johnson entered the transfer portal along with forward Bangot Dak. Those departures were made more manageable by Barrington Hargress return.
On Monday, the bad news continued as sophomore forward Sebastian Rancik entered the transfer portal. Rancik averaged 12.3 points, 5.6 rebounds and two assists this season.

Despite recent reports of increased investment in the men’s basketball program, Colorado has lost three of its four top players in a matter of days. Now, that investment could come in the form of transfer-portal additions rather than roster retention, but that remains to be seen.
Colorado’s remaining 12 players will make the trip to Las Vegas for Wednesday’s College Basketball Crown contest against Oklahoma, perhaps suggesting that the Buffs won’t have any more significant portal entrants.
Tad Boyle will make additions to the roster this offseason, but the high-level departures of the past few days are not how Buff fans envisioned the last few days of the season.
