Ever since Deion Sanders took over at Colorado, the team has been family-focused. That tradition continued as the Buffaloes are adding the son of their defensive line coach, Domata Peko.
The former Hawaii Rainbow Warrior and JUCO product, Domata Peko Jr., announced his commitment to the Buffaloes today. Peko Jr. played last season at College of the Canyons in California, recording two sacks and three tackles for loss.

Peko Jr. went on an unofficial visit to Boulder during Colorado’s spring game and has been adamant that he would be returning to Folsom Field.
The other son of Peko, Joseph Peko, is a 2026 recruit and has an outstanding offer from the Buffaloes. The 3-star prospect was also in attendance for the spring game and has gone on a visit to Bill Belichick’s North Carolina.
The JUCO product won’t be joining the Buffaloes until December, according to his X account, which currently lists him as attending Ventura College. Peko Jr. is set to join a Colorado defense that recently lost up-and-coming pass rusher Taje McCoy. Colorado’s defense led the Big 12 in sacks last season, and its pass rush played a key role in the team’s turnaround.
