The Indianapolis Colts made it perfectly clear after their season ended that they were not satisfied with the passing game.
They committed to a quarterback competition which prompted them to sign veteran Daniel Jones to battle Anthony Richardson for the job.

Both quarterbacks have been scorned by football fans and the media for much of their careers, so it was expected that the Colts would search for a late-round quarterback to add as a tertiary option.
They met with multiple offensive orchestrators such as former Texas star Quinn Ewers and National Champion Will Howard of the Ohio State Buckeyes.
But Indianapolis went away from the script and drafted a quarterback they didn’t show much interest in.

The Colts took former Notre Dame quarterback Riley Leonard in the sixth round who offers a similar skillset to both quarterbacks on the roster.
It’s unlikely that he’ll play a big part in the Colts roster or ever see the field, but his reaction to being drafted still got a massive response from fans.

Leonard posted a short 10-second clip expressing his excitement over playing in Indiana and fans loved it.
The former Fighting Irish quarterback had an impressive college career where he threw for over 7,000 yards and 45 touchdowns in essentially three seasons.
He dazzled audiences even more on the ground with over 900 rushing yards and 17 touchdowns this past season.
It’s unlikely he ever sees the field for the Colts, but it’s always nice to have quarterbacks with similar skillsets on the roster.
