The Washington Commanders have parted ways with tight ends coach, Ben Steele, the team announced.
Washington added that it will have no further comment at this time.
The move was unexpected, given that Steele was just hired by the team earlier this offseason. It leaves an opening on the staff just one day before veterans report to training camp on July 28.

Steele previously served as the Arizona Cardinals tight end coach for the last three seasons. He worked as an assistant offensive line coach with the Denver Broncos and Minnesota Vikings prior to that.
