Cowboys reportedly interested in two veteran linebackers

by

The Dallas Cowboys need help at linebacker. This sentence rings as true today as it does when last season ended, as it did when legal tampering began, and as it did when the new league year officially began. While the Cowboys have made a number of changes across their roster, they have yet to add to the middle of Christian Parker’s defense.

As free agency was kicking off there were rumors that Dallas was interested in Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker Patrick Queen. Obviously acquiring Queen would involve a trade, but this offseason has shown that the Cowboys are not unwilling to make a deal if they feel it interests them.

The Cowboys have their eyes on two linebackers

On Friday morning, Nick Harris of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram shared his first mock draft of the season. Harris did not have the Cowboys taking a linebacker, and he specifically noted that he believes the team will address the position by way of the trade market before the draft.

Someone asked Harris about this specific detail in an exchange on X and he answered that the Cowboys seem to have moved off of the idea of Patrick Queen. What’s more is he added that the team is discussing Azeez Al-Shaair and Jordyn Brooks as potential options.
