Toss Sunrisers Hyderabad chose to bowl vs Rajasthan Royals
Pat Cummins, returning as Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) captain and playing his first competitive game since the Adelaide Ashes Test in mid-December, has chosen to bowl against Rajasthan Royals (RR) in Jaipur.
This was SRH’s first toss win of the season: stand-in captain Ishan Kishan had lost all seven he had contested.
Cummins came into SRH’s XI for the Sri Lanka quick Dilshan Madushanka, in one of two changes in the bowling department, with seamer Praful Hinge – who picked up a match-winning four-wicket haul on IPL debut in the reverse fixture in Hyderabad – also returning to the XI in place of left-arm spinner Harsh Dubey.
Both teams left out a spinner for a seamer. For RR, Tushar Deshpande came in for the legspinner Ravi Bishnoi, who dropped onto the Impact Player bench.
Travis Head starts the game on the subs bench for SRH. He is likely to slot in as Impact Player when they begin their chase.
Both teams will look to firm up their chances of a top-four league finish coming into this game, with RR having picked up ten points in their first seven games, and SRH eight in seven.
