With the trade deadline approaching, several teams made trades to bolster their rosters for a postseason push or to help better build for their future. The Washington Mystics traded away All-Star guard Brittney Sykes on Tuesday and made another move on Thursday.
This time, they made a deal with the Connecticut Sun, as they traded second-year forward Aaliyah Edwards in exchange for Jacy Sheldon and the rights to swap their 2026 first-round pick.

Sheldon was originally selected fifth overall by the Dallas Wings, but was traded during the offseason to the Sun. Because she has already been traded twice in her career, WNBA fans brought up the 2024 draft order once again and talked about the Wings not taking Reese.
“Kamilla, Jacy and Aaliyah were really drafted before Angel LOL,” one fan said.
“‘Should’ve just drafted Angel’ Pt. 2 lmao,” another responded.
“#7 THAT GURRRRRRLLLLLL⛹🏽♀️👏🏽⛹🏽♀️👏🏽!!” a fan chimed in.

“All those teams are better than Chicago ? 🤨,” another added. “And if angel went to Dallas they wouldn’t have gotten Paige who is a million times better.”
“I still don’t understand how the Wings drafted Jacy Sheldon over Angel Reese lol smfh,” one fan replied. “Jacy had not business getting drafted that high from the jump!!”
Angel Reese’s WNBA Career Compared to Aaliyah Edwards, Jacy Sheldon
Through two WNBA seasons, Reese is the most decorated player in her draft class outside of Caitlin Clark. She is already a two-time All-Star, an All-Rookie selection and is on pace to lead the league in rebounds per game for the second-straight season.

Sheldon will already be playing for her third team in just a season and a half. She has collected averages of 6.3 points, 2.3 assists and 2.0 rebounds per game in 68 career contests, shooting 42.3% from beyond the arc, including 47.0% in 2025.
Edwards had a strong rookie campaign for the Mystics, averaging 7.6 points, 5.6 rebounds and 1.4 assists per game. However, her role decreased this season due to a combination of injury and players like Kiki Iriafen and Shakira Austin emerging in Washington.
