Dallas Wings Get Major News on Paige Bueckers Injury Return

Dallas Wings Get Major News on Paige Bueckers Injury Return originally appeared on Athlon Sports.

She is back. Well, she is back at practice. Paige Bueckers, after having suffered a concussion when she banged heads with Courtney Vandersloot of the Sky a week ago, is back on the practice floor for the Wings, leaving fans hopeful that the No. 1 pick in the 2025 WNBA draft will be ready to go after missing two games.

Bueckers has been off to a solid start to her WNBA career, averaging 14.7 points in May, when she ranked fourth in the league with 6.7 assists per game. She also grabbed 4.5 rebounds and chipped in with 2.0 steals and 1.0 blocks.

The Wings, who have a rebuilt roster coming off last year’s 9-31 debacle, as well as new coach Chris Koclanes attempting to install a new systerm, have had a rough go of things thus far. The team is just 1-7, in last place in the WNBA.

But reporter Joey Mistretta of Clutch Points was out at practice on Thursday and reported that Bueckers is on the floor. While that does not mean she is definitely a go, it is progress.

He wrote on X, “Paige Bueckers is here at practice, not sure if she is participating though.”

He also posted a photo of Bueckers riding the exercise bike at practice.

Reporter Melissa Triebwasser wrote that Bueckers has not participated in reps to open the practice: “Here at College Park Center for Wings practice ahead of their home game tomorrow agains the LA Sparks. Paige Bueckers is practicing today but not currently on the floor.”

The Wings do, indeed, play the Sparks on Friday at 9:30 p.m. ET.
