The Dallas Wings are headed into a new era led by No. 1 overall pick Paige Bueckers.
Dallas drafted Bueckers out of one of the most prestigious women’s basketball programs in the country, the UConn Huskies.

Bueckers previously played four seasons at UConn, helping lead the Huskies to the national championship last season with the help of one of the top coaches in the sport, Geno Auriemma.
As Bueckers makes the transition to the WNBA, she’s bringing the hype with her.
On Thursday, the Wings announced that Bueckers’ WNBA debut, a matchup against the Minnesota Lynx at 7:30 p.m. ET Friday, has officially been sold out.
“See y’all at The Park! OUR HOME OPENER IS OFFICIALLY SOLD OUT,” posted the official social media account of the Dallas Wings.
Bueckers is making the transition to the WNBA, having already established herself as one of the most well-known figures in women’s basketball.

She committed to UConn as one of the most highly touted recruits in history. While she was plagued by injuries early on, Bueckers’ college basketball career ended with a bang.
UConn defeated South Carolina, 82-59, in the national title game after defeating the following programs in the NCAA Tournament: Arkansas State, South Dakota State, Oklahoma, USC and UCLA.

Paige Bueckers finished her four-year career with the UConn Huskies posting 19.8 points, 4.7 rebounds and 4.5 assists per game.
She will look to bring a spark to the Dallas Wings, who clearly struggled last season, capping off the year with a 9-31 record.
