The Dallas Wings wasted no time congratulating their rookie guard Azzi Fudd as she made the list of players who will feature in this year’s three-point contest during the All-Star weekend.
Notably, Fudd makes the cut after three of the league’s best shooters apparently declined to participate, including Caitlin Clark, Sabrina Ionescu and Kayla McBride, as per reporter Alexa Philippou.

“You know who we got on Friday. Tune into Azzi Fudd as she participates in the 3-Point Contest at 7pm CT!” Wings’ official account posted on X.
The contest will now feature Portland Fire’s Bridget Carleton, Natisha Hiedeman from the Seattle Storm, Rhyne Howard from the Atlanta Dream, Marina Mabrey from the Toronto Tempo, Janelle Salaün from the Golden State Valkyries and now Dallas Wings’ Azzi Fudd.
Fudd has enjoyed a fine start to life in the league with the Wings. She ranks 11th in the league in three-pointers made per game, at 2.0, while registering an impressive 38.8% shooting rate from beyond the arc. Fudd will be the only rookie participating in this year’s three-point contest.
This is a big boost for the Wings franchise as they will now have three of their players headline the All-Star weekend, with Paige Bueckers and forward Jessica Shepard already named as starters for their respective teams.

This year we will witness a new winner, as Sabrina Ionescu, the defending champion, is set to miss the headline event. Ionescu has won the three-point contest twice in the last two years, and famously set the all-time three-point contest record in both the WNBA and NBA after scoring 37 of 40 points in 2023.
Fans are excited for this signature event, to be held at the Wintrust Arena in Chicago, Illinois, as some of the league’s best offensive players go head-to-head to compete for the crown.
Marina Mabrey and Rhyne Howard are the top two players in the league when it comes to three-pointers made per game, at 3.3 and 3.2, respectively. All six players are in the top 11 in three-pointers made per game, meaning there will be no shortage of excitement for the viewers.
This year’s event will feature two timed rounds with something called the “money balls”, which will carry two points. Players will also get to place a special “all money ball” rack, where every ball is worth two points, anywhere among the five shooting locations. The contest will also feature a shot called “From the Logo”, where two balls will be positioned on pedestals at deep shot locations.

The WNBA three-point contest will be held on Friday, July 24, and will act as a precursor to the 2026 WNBA All-Star Game between Team Teresa Weatherspoon and Team Cynthia Cooper on Saturday.
Fans can tune in to the All-Star three-point contest, which will be broadcast at 6:00 PM ET on ESPN, Disney+ and the ESPN app.
