The Dallas Wings may have suffered their fifth loss in six games, but they still have a reason to celebrate and be optimistic about their future.

Dallas fell to the Chicago Sky 97-92 on Thursday, with Kamilla Cardoso proving to be unstoppable. The Brazilian center finished with 23 points and eight rebounds, while shooting 9-of-13 from the field.

Arike Ogunbowale had 37 points, five rebounds and seven assists for Dallas, but unfortunately, her efforts were not enough. She didn’t get much help from her teammates, particularly from the Wings’ second unit. Chicago’s bench outscored its Dallas counterpart, 30-13.

Despite the defeat, Ogunbowale made history. The WNBA noted she is now second only to Diana Taurasi for the most career 35-point games with at least five made 3-pointers. The 28-year-old shot 6-of-12 from deep in the game.

“Arike Ogunbowale put on a scoring masterclass vs. the Sky! This is her 6th career game with 35+ PTS and 5+ 3PM, making her 2nd all-time in WNBA history with this achievement, only behind Diana Taurasi,” the WNBA wrote in a post.

It’s not the first time this season that the Wings guard was mentioned in the same breath as Diana Taurasi.

In their third game of the 2025 season against the Minnesota Lynx, Arike Ogunbowale made five triples, allowing her to breach the 500 3-point mark. With that, she tied Taurasi for “the fastest player to reach 500 career 3PM in WNBA history.”

Both players took 198 games to reach the milestone.

While the Wings continue to struggle and now sit at 1-5 on the season, Ogunbowale’s performance so far certainly provides them with hope that they can turn things around.
