Jan. 11—ALLEN — The Allen High School girls basketball team nearly hung a hundred points on the scoreboard in a 98-33 runaway victory over Maud at home Tuesday night.
The Lady Mustangs, ranked No. 8 in Class A, improved to 9-3 on the year while Maud dropped to 3-6.
Three of the biggest points came in the second quarter when senior Kaylee Davis sank a 3-pointer in the second quarter. That bucket gave Davis her 1,000th career point.
“That was the highlight of the night,” said Allen head coach Dottie Slabaugh. “But we shot the ball very well.”
The Lady Mustangs return to action Tuesday, hosting Pontotoc Conference foe Asher.
Allen 98, Maud 33
Allen erupted for 39 points in the first quarter en route to a huge 62-13 halftime lead.
The Lady Mustangs hit 17 3-pointers in the contest and shot 47.4% from the field overall.
Fittingly, Davis led Allen with 22 points and made 6 of 10 3-point shots. She also had nine rebounds and seven assists.
Stoney Cully followed with 17 points and made 4 of 6 3-point tries. Addison Prentice was next with 16 points, including a pair of triples. She finished with seven steals and eight rebounds.
Cherish Woodwar scored 13 points for the home team and Khloe Goodsson hit a pair of 3-pointers and scored eight points.
Tresley Mowdy hit two 3-point baskets and Dextry Bowerman made one basket from long range. Allen got 3-pointers from six different players.
Jaycee Pack registered a double-double for the Maud squad with 10 points and 11 rebounds.
Stratford girls drop TupeloSTRATFORD — The Stratford Lady Bulldogs took control early and surged past Tupelo 78-26 in a Tuesday night home game.
Coach Mark Savage saw his team, ranked No. 20 in Class 2A, improve to 6-2 on the year, while Tupelo fell to 2-13.
Stratford was scheduled to compete in the 2025 Alex Longhorn Classic but that event was turned into a Saturday festival. The Lady Bulldogs are scheduled to meet Cyril at 2 p.m. today.

Stratford hurried to a 33-4 lead after the first quarter and went into halftime with a 52-13 advantage.
Four SHS players reached double figures.
—6-1 post player Jaelee Korzan finished with 20 points, nine rebounds and five steals. She went a perfect 8 of 8 from the free-throw line.
—Ryleigh Ardery scored 12 points and made three 3-point baskets.
—Trinity Bess filled up the state sheet to the tune of 12 points, five assists and five steals.
—Callie Sandlin reached double figures with 11 points and drained a trio of 3-pointers.
Stratford finished 13 of 15 from the free-throw line.
Kayle Watson paced Tupelo with eight points and made a pair of 3-pointers.
Lady Wolves roll in ApacheAPACHE — The Vanoss Lady Wolves overwhelmed Lawton Eisenhower’s junior varsity squad 72-9 Wednesday in the first round of the Slick Hills Invitational hosted by Apache High School.
The Lady Wolves, ranked No. 11 in Class 2A, improved to 10-2. The tournament will continue Monday with Vanoss meeting the Hobart-Hollis winner at 5:50 p.m. in a semifinal contest. The tournament will conclude Wednesday with the girls championship game scheduled for 3 p.m. and the boys title game to follow at 4:30 p.m.
Vanoss 72, Lawton Ike JV 9
Vanoss led 15-2 after the first quarter and then outscored Lawton Eisenhower 23-0 in the second period on the way to a 38-2 halftime lead.
Every player on the Vanoss roster scored at least four points in the game.
RJ King led the way with 15 points, including one 3-point basket. She made 2 of 2 free shots. Lanie Meyers also hit double figures with 12 points, including a pair of 3-point shots.
Dalli Carlos and Caidence Cross added eight points apiece and Vaeh Pierce followed with seven. Carlos made two 3-pointers and both Pierce and Addi Sheppard hit one 3-pointer shot.
Vanoss made 7 of 13 free throws.
Wilson shuts down RoffDAVIS — The Roff Lady Tigers were held without a field goal in the first quarter and never overcame the slow start in a 46-28 loss to Wilson in the first round of the Arbuckle Winter Classic.
Roff fell to 6-8 on the year, while Wilson improved to 7-3. The tournament resumes today and will finish on Monday. All game times remain the same.

Wilson jumped out to a 15-2 first-quarter lead and stretched the advantage to 32-9 by halftime. Roff outscored Wilson 19-14 over the final two frames.
Emma Hardison paced the RHS offense with eight points, including a 6 for 6 effort from the free-throw line. Mallori Rogers sank a pair of 3-pointers for six points and Sophie Elred, who made one 3-point shot, also scored six points for Roff.
Ashton Baker poured in a game-high 25 points for Wilson. She made one 3-pointer and went 4 of 5 from the free-throw line. Delaney Richardson also hit double figures for Wilson with 11 points.
