The expectation is that the Joe Gibbs Racing driver will retire after 2027. Now, Hamlin’s potential replacement has been revealed.
Brent Crews is Joe Gibbs Racing’s focus on the developmental driver side who could be Cup Series ready, as reported by FOX Sports’ Bob Pockrass. Crews, who turned 18 years old in March, has been very strong in his rookie season in the NASCAR O’Reilly Series.

The driver of the No. 19 car hasn’t earned his first NASCAR win yet; however, he has been close to victory lane on multiple occasions. Crews’ timeline lines up with Hamlin if he retires after 2027. Crews could use one more full-time year in the O’Reilly Series before making the jump to the Cup Series.
