Weeks after a messy breakup with the Indiana Fever, WNBA veteran DeWanna Bonner has found her new landing spot. Bonner is reportedly expected to sign with the Phoenix Mercury, a team where she spent the first decade of her career, per ESPN.
Bonner was released by the Fever on June 25 after the team failed to find a trade partner, despite Bonner requesting a trade. Prior to being waived, Bonner had been absent for weeks due to “personal reasons,” reportedly wanting out of Indiana after being benched in favor of Lexie Hull.
