Will MS Dhoni play Chennai Super Kings‘ (CSK) next match against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in Hyderabad on Saturday evening?
We do not know that for sure but it hasn’t been ruled out yet because Dhoni travelled with the team to Hyderabad on Thursday. When CSK arrived at the Hyderabad airport, fans thronged to get a glimpse of their hero. In a video posted by CSK on social media, they could be seen chanting Dhoni’s name as he boarded the team bus.

Dhoni, who has been recovering from a calf strain, has missed CSK’s first five games in IPL 2026. In fact, he didn’t travel with the squad for their away games in Guwahati and Bengaluru, nor was he at Chepauk on match days for their home games.
On the eve of CSK’s home match against Kolkata Knight Riders, Dhoni had a short hit in the nets towards the end of the team’s training session, but once again, he limited himself to facing throwdowns.
CSK started the season with three successive losses before picking up two wins in their previous two games.
