Dillon Danis didn’t have the friendliest interactions with Luke Rockhold in the week leading up to Misfits Boxing 22, and the hate sure continued more so after Rockhold’s rough night.
Danis, who won his first MMA fight since 2019 at Misfits Boxing 22, went off on the former UFC middleweight champion after Rockhold was viciously knocked out by Darren Till in the main event of the card – which went down on Saturday night in Manchester, England. Danis, who sported a grin from ear to ear, was happy to see Rockhold finished in devastating fashion.
“I was so happy he put him out like that because Luke is a f*cking dirt bag,” Danis said at the Misfits Boxing 22 post-fight press conference. “I don’t know if you guys know Luke personally, but he’s a scumbag, and I’m so happy he went out like that. I weakened his jaw a little yesterday, but Till’s left hand put him out. The way he was laying on the ropes, it’s ‘Fuck you, man.'”
Danis made some negative comments about Rockhold’s ex-girlfriend, Demi Lovato, at the pre-fight press conference and the two began jawing at each other. Unsurprisingly, both Danis and Rockhold got into a scuffle at weigh-ins and had to be separated.
“He’s an egomaniac,” Danis said. “I hit him with a couple of lines and his ego couldn’t handle it. I weakened his jaw a little bit and Till just finished him off. I was so happy to see that.”
When asked if he’d like to face the former UFC champion in a professional setting, Danis didn’t seem to show much interest in the matchup, highlighting again Rockhold’s KO loss.
“I think Luke is dead,” Danis said. “I think he might be at his funeral. I don’t think he got up. Till put him out cold.”
