In the games that he played in last season, DJ Lagway impacted the Florida football program with his dual threat ability at quarterback.

Now, he’s impacting the Gators community through his name, image and likeness (NIL) earnings.

On Saturday, the Gators signal-caller announced on X (formerly Twitter) that he is making a six-figure donation to Florida‘s NIL collective, Florida Victorious, to support the Gators women’s programs as part of International Women’s Day.

Per Florida Victorious’ press release, Lagway’s donation will support women’s basketball, softball, volleyball, gymnastics programs at Florida.

“Hard work is the lifeblood of everything we do. Every home run. Every spike. Every bucket. So many hours of unseen hard work. But I see it. I see the 25 SEC championships. I see it in the perfect 10s. I can hear the hours of dedication behind every pitch. I see the precision in every 3-pointer. I am truly inspired by these women,” Lagway said in the video.

“Your passion pushes me to go harder every single day. because of this, I wanna show my appreciation for everything that they do and encourage others to do the same. That’s why I have decided to personally make a contribution to our Florida Victorious women athletes, Go Gators!”

Per On3, Lagway holds NIL deals with Gatorade, Nintendo, Epic Games and Leaf Trading Cards.

In 12 games last season, the now sophomore quarterback led the Gators to an 8-4 overall record while completing 59.9% of his passes for 1,915 passing yards and 12 passing touchdowns. He also added 101 rushing yards on 50 carries.

Of his eight wins as a true freshman, four of them came to end the season against No. 22 LSU, No. 9 Ole Miss, Florida State and Tulane — the last of those four coming in the Gasparilla Bowl. In those four games, Lagway threw for a combined 844 yards and six touchdowns.

“It’s no surprise to me to see that he has the foresight and the big picture of perspective. I think it’s just in his nature, his family, they viewed this as a platform, there’s a purpose behind everything that they do. They live life with intention, living life to help other people,” Florida coach Billy Napier said in a statement.

“That’s in DJ. It’s in his DNA and I think he’s first class. I think that he’ll continue to do these types of things for the rest of his life. This is who he is. And what a great example. To whom much is given, much is expected, and I think he’s taking full advantage of his opportunity to take this platform and run with it.”

Lagway and Florida are set to open up the 2025 college football season on Long Island University on Saturday, Aug. 30.
