The Atlanta Falcons are already dealing with injuries heading into Week 8, but the team’s situation may have gotten worse Saturday. Star wideout Drake London was a surprising add to the team’s injury report due to a hip injury.
While London missed time during the week due to the issue, he was able to turn in a limited practice Friday. He initially did not have an injury designation for Sunday’s game, but that changed after London popped up on the injury report Saturday.

It appears London is a true game-time decision for Sunday’s contest against the Miami Dolphins. The team plans to run London through pre-game warmups to see if he’s healthy enough to play in Week 8, per ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
London has been a solid contributor for the Falcons early this season. The 24-year-old has 469 receiving yards and two touchdowns in six games.
Atlanta is already coming into the contest down a starter. Quarterback Michael Penix will not play against the Dolphins due to a bone bruise. Backup Kirk Cousins will get the start with Penix down.
If London is unable to go, Darnell Mooney and Kyle Pitts will need to step up. Mooney has already missed time this season and was limited in practice this week due to a hamstring injury. He did not receive an injury designation after Friday’s practice and is expected to play in Week 8.

Pitts comes into the contest tied for second on the team in receptions. He’s hauled in 30 passes for 285 yards and a touchdown this season.
The prospect of losing both Penix and London in Week 8 is scary, but might not be enough to stop the Falcons from putting points on the board. Miami is allowing 29.3 points per game, which ranks 29th in the NFL.
