The Drake women’s basketball team is adding a guard with some experience and a ton of eligibility.
Lexi Carlsen, a 5-foot-8 guard, announced April 22 on social media that she’s transferring from Northern Illinois to Drake.

The Sycamore, Ill., native was a big-time contributor in her first collegiate season, averaging 8.4 points, 3.3 rebounds and 2.4 assists in 2024-25.
Carlsen played in 30 games last season, starting 24 for NIU. She shot 41% from the field, including 42% from 3-point range.
The success earned her plenty of accolades, with Carlsen being named to the Mid-American Conference All-Freshman Team.
