The Drake women’s basketball team defeated Southern Illinois 82-40 on Thursday at home in the Missouri Valley Conference.
Drake has won seven straight games and improved to 18-8 overall and 12-3 in the Valley. The Bulldogs play host to Missouri State at 2 p.m. Saturday; the first-place Bears (21-5, 13-2) have a one-game lead over Drake.
Courtney Becker scored 11 points, grabbed 12 rebounds and dished out seven assists in Thursday’s victory. She became the 38th Drake player to score 1,000 career points.
Katie Dinnebier led the Bulldogs with 18 points. She was 7-of-7 from the field and 3-for-3 at the free-throw line.
Drake has five regular-season games remaining before the conference tournament.
