CHICAGO – Drakkar Klose met with MMA Junkie and other media members Saturday after his win over Edson Barboza at UFC 319.

Klose (16-3-1 MMA, 10-3 UFC) picked up arguably the biggest win of his career when he outworked feared striker Barboza (24-13 MMA, 18-13 UFC) for a unanimous decision on the preliminary card at United Center.

It was an emotional return to the win column for Klose, who dedicated the fight to his brother, who was murdered in 2024.

“This win was for my big brother,” Klose said at his post-fight news conference. “Barboza was actually one of his favorite fighters. I know my brother’s up there looking down on me right now.”

Klose said his 10th UFC win is an important benchmark because he wasn’t expected to be here.

“A lot of people can’t say they’ve got 10 wins in the UFC,” Klose told MMA Junkie. “To me, I still feel like a little poor kid from South Haven, Mich. I don’t feel like anything special. Just to be able to do this in the UFC is amazing.”
