The new addition is set to make one of the top programs in the Big East even stronger for the 2025-26 season. The Creighton Bluejays added an elite guard in Blake Harper.
He comes over from the Howard Bison, where he was the MEAC Player of the Year. While that is massive news for the Bluejays, the message sent from one of the best players in college basketball should also be highlighted.
The message came from Duke’s Khaman Maluach: “Big time.”
Maluach has made plenty of news himself as he elected to head into the NBA draft. The 18-year-old from South Sudan stands 7-foot-2 and projects to be a top 10 pick in the draft.
In just one season with Jon Scheyer and the Blue Devils, Maluach played in 39 games and averaged 21.3 minutes on the court. The big man scored 8.6 points per game and ripped down 6.6 rebounds.

For Harper, the commitment was a bit of a surprise as many felt it would be the Ohio State Buckeyes or LSU Tigers. Harper scored 19.5 points per game during his one season at Howard.

The Bluejays have also received commitments from Austin Swartz out of Miami, Josh Dix and Owen Freeman from Iowa and Nik Graves from Charlotte. Creighton lost Pop Isaacs to Houston and Frederick King and Mason Miller to Murray State.
