The Michigan Wolverines have the chance to win the program’s first men’s basketball national championship since 1989, but before it can play for a title, it has to get back the last remaining No. 1 seed in March Madness, the Arizona Wildcats.
However, that didn’t stop Dusty May from scouting the Wolverines’ potential championship opponent before his team’s Final Four matchup on Saturday night.

May was spotted pulling a fairly unprecedented move as he was sitting courtside for the first semifinal game between the UConn Huskies and Illinois Fighting Illini. Even TBS panelist Ernie Johnson commented that he hadn’t seen a coach scouting before his team’s game.
The information May gleans from watching the game in person could prove useful, but only if Michigan can get past Arizona. If it does, it would likely enter the title game as a clear favorite.
Whether May is a genius or setting himself up for some major criticism depends on what happens in the second game on Saturday night.
