Elite QB Charles Scott commits to Georgia football rival

Quarterback recruit Charles Scott, a member of the class of 2028, has committed to the Alabama Crimson Tide, per Rivals’ Hayes Fawcett. At 6-foot-5, 235 pounds, Scott was a major target for the Georgia Bulldogs prior to his commitment to the Crimson Tide.

Scott is an athletic quarterback with excellent speed given his size. The rising star’s top schools included Georgia, Maryland, Virginia Tech and Alabama, as the Dawgs were reportedly in the mix for the talented quarterback until the very end of his recruitment. Scott could still take an official visit to Georgia despite committing to Alabama.

Scott is ranked as the No. 34 quarterback and the No. 432 overall player from the class of 2028, per the 247Sports Composite Rankings. He is listed as the No. 10 player out of Virginia, as Scott has been elite throughout his time at Huguenot High School in Richmond, Virginia. Scott also plays high school basketball.

In Scott’s sophomore season, he recorded 41 passing touchdowns and eight rushing touchdowns. Scott totaled 3,709 yards of offense and threw only four interceptions.

Georgia has slowly started to target some of the top overall talent from the class of 2028. The Bulldogs’ top overall recruit Casey Barner visited Athens for a second time recently, while Georgia has submitted an offer for four-star QB Kaden Craft as well.

Georgia already has a commitment from five-star quarterback Jayden Wade in the class of 2028, but there’s a chance Wade will reclassify to the 2027 cycle.
