Emory Women New No. 1 in CSCAA Division III Top 25; Denison Men on Top

Emory’s women’s team is the new No. 1 in the latest CSCAA Division III Top 25, released on Friday.

It’s a shakeup of the top three, with Emory moving up a spot to the No. 1 ranking. MIT jumps a spot to second, with last month’s No. 1 team Kenyon falling to third.

Denison, NYU, Chicago and Williams round out the top seven, the latter four unchanged from a month ago. Unbeaten Swarthmore moves up a spot to ninth, behind Pomona-Pitzer, with both schools displacing Tufts. Kean jumps into the rankings as the 25th team.

That’s nothing compared to the upheaval in the men’s top 25, as voted by the College Swimming Coaches Association of America. The top three is jumped slightly, Denison holding an 18-point lead at No. 1, but over Emory, which leapfrogs 8-0 NYU to second. Chicago remained fourth.

But then the moves. Tufts rose five spots to No. 5. Carnegie Mellon jumped three spots to No. 6. That came at the expense of MIT falling form fifth to ninth and Kenyon plummeting seven spots to 13th. Grinnell joins the rankings in 23rd place.
