ESPN names TV announcers for Alabama-Arkansas game

The Alabama Crimson Tide are headed to Fayetteville to face the Arkansas Razorbacks Saturday night at Bud Walton Arena.

ESPN this week announced broadcast assignments and commentator pairings for its Week 14 slate of college basketball games. The broadcast team of Tom Hart (play-by-play) and Jimmy Dykes (analyst) will have the TV call of Alabama vs. Arkansas on ESPN.

The Crimson Tide (19-3 overall, 8-1 SEC) are seeking their sixth straight win after routing the Georgia Bulldogs 90-69 last Saturday at Coleman Coliseum. Mark Sears led Alabama with 20 points and Grant Nelson added 16 to go with 10 rebounds for a double-double.

Arkansas (14-8, 3-6) defeated the Texas Longhorns 78-70 in Austin earlier this week and won 89-79 over the Kentucky Wildcats at Rupp Arena last Saturday.

Alabama is ranked No. 3 in this week’s USA TODAY Sports Coaches Poll and AP Top 25 poll. The Crimson Tide moved up one spot to No. 6 in the latest NET rankings and are No. 6 in the KenPom ratings. Arkansas is No. 44 in NET rankings and No. 43 in KenPom.

Tipoff for Saturday’s game in Fayetteville is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. CT.

Alabama vs. Arkansas basketball series history at a glance

Alabama and Arkansas will be meeting for the 70th time on the hardwood in a series that dates back to 1948. The Razorbacks hold a slight lead in head-to-head play, 36-33. Alabama has won four straight vs. Arkansas and five of the last six meetings, including last year’s 92-88 overtime win at Coleman Coliseum to close the regular season.

Nate Oats is 5-2 vs. the Razorbacks in his six seasons in Tuscaloosa. Alabama is 7-21 in games played in Fayetteville.
