Ex-UFC champ Cody Garbrandt books first fight in 14 months when he returns at UFC Atlanta

Former UFC bantamweight champion Cody Garbrandt is finally ready to resume his career after booking a fight for the upcoming UFC Atlanta card on June 14.

Garbrandt is slated to face Raoni Barcelos on the card headlined by former welterweight champion Kamaru Usman also making his return to action against Joaquin Buckley in the five-round main event.

UFC officials announced the pairing on Sunday along with further confirmation that the previously cancelled fight between Paul Craig and Renato Bellato was also rescheduled for that same June 14 event.

As for Garbrandt, the now 33-year-old veteran makes his first appearance in 2025 after he was forced to drop out of his most recently scheduled fight against Miles John back in 2024. That fight was booked and then delayed before Garbrandt eventually dropped off the card entirely.

Now healthy again and ready to compete, Garbrandt looks to return to the win column with his most recent performance ending in a submission loss to Deiveson Figueiredo at the historic UFC 300 card.

Meanwhile, Barcelos attempts to build on a two-fight win streak including an incredibly impressive performance to shut down highly touted prospect Payton Talbott in his last outing at UFC 311 in January. Overall, Barcelos has gone 3-2 in his past five fights with additional wins coming against Trevin Jones and Christian Quinonez.

The UFC returns to Atlanta on June 14 with the event taking place at the State Farm Arena with the full bout order for the card still to be determined.
