Fabian Edwards doesn’t give Dalton Rosta the advantage over him anywhere in MMA – even wrestling.
Edwards (15-4) faces NCAA Division I wrestler Rosta (11-1) in the middleweight tournament finals Thursday, which headlines 2025 PFL World Tournament 10 from Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino.
When breaking down Rosta as an opponent, Edwards made a bold claim when comparing their wrestling.
“I think he can wrestle a bit better in terms of if we’re freestyle wrestling with boots on,” Edwards told MMA Junkie Radio. “But in terms of cage wrestling, I think I’m better at cage wrestling than him. Power-wise, I don’t think he has more power than me. Skill-wise, fight IQ, explosiveness – I don’t think he has any of that over me.”
A former two-time middleweight title challenger, Edwards has fought much more experienced opponents than Rosta, with his resume including wins over Lyoto Machida and Gegard Mousasi.
“I’m the guy that’s been seasoned, put in the fridge for days,” Edwards said. “He’s just a guy that’s had seasoning and thrown in the pot so, it’s just different. I got more flavor and more experience, and also, I’m going to go out there and do better than this guy. Having those three years on him, fighting these better opponents across the world has done me the greater good. So, I’m coming to use that experience on him.”
