The Indiana Fever have now lost two straight games, both of which came in the absence of Caitlin Clark.

Indiana suffered an 85-83 loss to the Connecticut Sun, handing the opposing team their first win of the season.
With the loss to Connecticut, the Fever fell to 2-4 on the season, while the Sun now stand with a 1-5 win-loss card.
During the game, the Fever suffered two brutal losses to the lineup after Fever guard Sydney Colson left leg got tangled with a Sun player in the first quarter and Sophie Cunningham right ankle injury in the fourth period.
According to Indiana Fever reporter Scott Agness, Fever coach Stephanie White said there are currently no injury updates on Colson and Cunningham, who were tapped to step up due to Clark’s absence in the team.

“We’re hitting adversity right now. It’s challenging and — it’s a still a great opportunity for us.” White said.
Both players were helped off the court, limping their way into the locker room. Agness mentioned that the injury for Cunningham was the same ankle she tweaked on May 10 against the Atlanta Dream.
After the game, White spoke on the loss. The Fever had a chance to earn a victory over the Sun late in the game, but wound up missing a go-ahead three at the buzzer.
“We weren’t looking for a 3 necessarily, we were just looking for a quick score,” White said. “I think the 3 happened because the inbound didn’t come in cleanly.”

As the Indiana Fever monitor Cunningham’s injury, they will have a chance to bounce back from their loss to the Sun as they face the Washington Mystics on Tuesday at 7 p.m. ET.
