The 2024-25 men’s college basketball regular season ended with some upsets Saturday, particularly in the SEC.
None were bigger than Alabama’s win over No. 1 Auburn at Neville Arena. Mark Sears hit the game-winning shot at the buzzer to lift the Crimson Tide to a 93-91 victory in an instant classic.
Nate Oats’ team wasn’t the only one who pulled off an upset on the road. Kentucky closed the regular season strong with a 91-83 road win at Missouri. Dennis Gates’ Tigers finished with three straight losses and went from a chance at a top-4 seed in the SEC Tournament entering the week to the No. 7 seed.
Missouri won’t be the only team slumping as they head to Nashville. Not after Mississippi State lost for the fourth time in five games Saturday, 93-92 to John Calipari’s Arkansas Razorbacks.
Texas A&M closed the regular season with two big wins, including its own upset of Auburn earlier in the week. The Aggies broke a four-game skid.
Here’s a look at the final SEC standings for the 2024-25 regular season, as well as where each team will be seeded in the SEC Tournament, which begins Wednesday at Bridgestone Arena.
