The second week of the 2025-26 men’s college basketball season is in the books, and after four games played, the Florida Gators find themselves with a 3-1 record early on.
The team dropped its season-opening matchup with the Arizona Wildcats in Las Vegas, but has prevailed in the three games since. However, this year’s edition of the Orange and Blue does not look quite as sharp as the title winners last season, but there are still plenty of games remaining on the schedule.

After four games played, Todd Golden’s gang finds itself ranked ninth in this week’s edition of the USA TODAY Sports Coaches Poll — up one spot from No. 10 last week. That puts Florida between the No. 8 Illinois Illini and No. 10 BYU Cougars.
SEC schools in Coaches Poll top 25 after Week 2
The Southeastern Conference is represented by six schools in this week’s edition of the Coaches Poll top 25, headlined by the ninth-ranked Gators. The Alabama Crimson Tide comes next at No. 11, followed by the Kentucky Wildcats (No. 13), the Tennessee Volunteers (No. 17), the Arkansas Razorbacks (No. 22) and the Vanderbilt Commodores (No. 24).
The Auburn Tigers fell out of the top 25 this week to a de facto No. 27 ranking with 37 votes. The Ole Miss Rebels (22) and Missouri Tigers (7) also earned ballot mentions.
