The Florida Gators are the 2025 men’s college basketball national champions! It was not an easy road to the NCAA Tournament title, but Todd Golden’s gang found a way to keep winning until the final horn sounded.
It did not take long for the sports media to turn its attention to next year, as many have already released their early rankings for the 2025-26 campaign, which still lies more than six months away. Among them was CBS Sports writer Gary Parrish, who published his debut top 25 and 1 list and ranked the Orange and Blue at No. 9 after taking home the title this spring.

“This ranking is based on the Gators returning seven of the top 10 scorers — specifically Alex Condon, Thomas Haugh, Denzel Aberdeen. Reuben Chinyelu, Sam Alexis, Urban Klavzar and Micah Handlogten — from a team that finished 36-4 and won the 2025 NCAA Tournament. That core will be joined by a recruiting class highlighted by four-star freshmen CJ Ingram and Alex Lloyd.”
