Florida DB Teddy Foster transferring from program

by

Florida redshirt freshman defensive back Teddy Foster plans to enter the transfer portal when it opens Jan. 2, according to On3’s Hayes Fawcett.

A former three-star recruit, Foster joined the program as a member of the 2024 class and played in five games as a true freshman, including the Gasparilla Bowl, which didn’t count against his redshirt eligibility. He spent most of the 2025 season contributing on special teams, seeing action in six games. He leaves Gainesville with six total tackles (four solo).

Viewed as a developmental signee, Foster never got the chance to show his stuff at Florida. Should he stick with his transfer decision and find a new home, playing time would likely be a factor in his recruitment. Foster has three years of eligibility remaining.

Florida has lost 13 players to the transfer portal this offseason. For an up-to-date list of players in the portal, check out Gators Wire’s tracker.

On offense, quarterback DJ Lagway, running back KD Daniels, wide receivers Tank Hawkins, Aidan Mizell, Mike Peterson Jr. (walk-on) and Muizz Tounkara, tight end Amir Jackson and offensive lineman Marcus Mascoll are departing.

Defensive lineman Tarvorise Brown (walk-on), linebacker Grayson Howard and defensive backs Jordan Castell, Josiah Davis and Teddy Foster are also gone.
