Football: 2026 Big Ten Schedule Analysis

At long last the 2026 football schedule has been released. We already knew the opponents and venues but on Tuesday the BIG officially announced the weeks each game will be played in, although because this sport is completely at the mercy of TV networks the kick off times and networks for each game won’t be known for a very long time.

Nonetheless here is the official announcement from the Big Ten. And below is Oregon’s schedule:

Saturday September 5th Week 1: Vs Boise State

Saturday September 12th Week 2: At Oklahoma State

Saturday September 19th Week 3: Vs Portland State

Saturday September 26th Week 4: At USC

Saturday October 3rd Week 5: BYE

Saturday October 10th Week 6: Vs UCLA

Saturday October 17th Week 7: Vs Nebraska

Saturday October 24th Week 8: At Illinois

Saturday October 31st Week 9: Vs Northwestern

Saturday November 7th Week 10: At Ohio State

Saturday November 14th Week 11: Vs Michigan

Saturday November 21st Week 12: At Michigan State

Saturday November 28th Week 13: Vs Washington

General Information

  • All of the B1G games are subject to be moved to Friday. That change will not be announced for months

  • As it is an even year Oregon will host Washington to end the season meaning Oregon will have 5 B1G Home Games to 4 B1G Road Games

Notes on BYE Weeks

  • Based on how Labor Day and Thanksgiving fall in the calendar teams that don’t play in Week 0 will only have 1 bye week this season

  • For Oregon the Bye week is in week 5 after 1 conference game splitting the season as 4 games before the Bye 8 games after the Bye

  • Both UCLA and Oregon will be coming off a Bye headed into the Week 6 matchup

  • Oregon will face one additional team coming off a Bye. Illinois in Week 8

Travel

  • After returning home from Stillwater in Week 2 on September 13th Oregon will stay on the West Coast until October 22nd they have to travel to Illinois in Week 8

  • Oregon will cross 3 time zones between each November game

    • Eugene to Columbus in Week 10 to play at Ohio State

    • Columbus to Eugene in Week 11 to host Michigan

    • Eugene to East Lansing in Week 12 to play at Michigan State

    • East Lansing to Eugene in Week 13 to host Washington

  • 2 Teams will Travel 3+ Time Zones to Play Oregon

    • Michigan Will host Michigan State in Ann Arbor before traveling to Eugene in Week 11

    • Ohio State Will play at USC in LA before traveling home to Columbus in Week 10

Other Tidbits

  • For the first time since moving to the B1G Oregon will play all 3 of the fellow B1G West-Coast Schools

  • Aside from a two consecutive games at home in Weeks 6 and 7 Oregon will alternate home and away games

  • Northwestern will make its first ever trip to Eugene in Week 9
