Football: Gophers add productive Mississippi tailback Greg Hargrow to 2027 class

The Gophers football program on Thursday added to its 2027 recruiting class for the first time since June as Mississippi running back Greg Hargrow became the third-overall pledge to the U’s class for next season.

“100% Committed,” Hargrow wrote on X.

Hargrow, who is listed at 5-foot-10 and 175 pounds, rushed for 1,294 yards and 22 touchdowns in 2025 for Rosa Fort High School in Tunica, Miss.

New Gophers running backs coach Mo Ibrahim was at Kent State last season when he offered Hargrow a scholarship. That connection carried over to Minnesota since the end of the 2025 season.

Hargrow, who does not yet have a star rating, had other offers from Liberty, New Mexico State, Arkansas State and Mississippi Valley State.

Hargrow joins four-star Wayzata defensive lineman Eli Diane and three-star California quarterback Furian Inferrera in next year’s class. Diane pledged in April and Inferrera, who transferred last week from Mater Dei to Mission Hills, committed in June.
