Football: Palte steps down as LCC football coach

by

Feb. 20—LIMA — Lima Central Catholic head football coach Scott Palte announced on Thursday that he is stepping down after 11 seasons with the program.

During his time at LCC, Palte went 88-40 and led the T-Birds to eight straight playoff appearances, including two trips to state in 2020 and 2022.

Palte released the following statement on his resignation.

“The past 11 years of being the head football coach of the LCC football program have been an incredible experience. Thank you to all the assistant coaches, families, administrators, faculty, and all of the Lima Central Catholic community for your dedication and support of our program. I have been blessed to have had the opportunity to coach the Thunderbirds and the experience has impacted my life far beyond the football field. Most importantly, I want to thank every single young person who chose to be a part of our program for the last 11 years. I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to coach so many incredible young men. Our success is 100% because of your hard work and dedication. Thank you for letting me come along for the ride! Go T-Birds!”
