Week 6 of the high school football season was not a friendly one to the area programs. All five teams went down to defeat.
Linton 38 North 20
Class 2A No. 9 Linton-Stockton built a 30-7 lead on visiting Class A No. 1 North Decatur en route to the 38-20 victory. The Miners improve to 4-2 on the season while the Chargers fall to 5-1.

The Miners took a 14-0 lead on a pair of Aidan Sparks touchdown runs. North got on the board at the 5:14 mark of the second quarter with a Matthew Fields 3-yard run. Linton quarterback Paul Oliver connected with Russel Goodman for a 23-yard TD pass to put Linton on top 22-7 at the half.
Cooper Smith added to the Miners’ lead with a 22-yard touchdown run to give the home squad a 30-7 lead. North’s Corbin Thackery returned the ensuing kickoff 85 yards for a touchdown. After another Goodman touchdown for the Miners, Fields found Carter Gray for the 6-yard touchdown to cap the third quarter and the scoring in the game.
Cloverdale 47 South 3
Visiting Cloverdale evened its overall record at 3-3 with a 47-3 victory at South Decatur. The Cougars fall to 2-4 on the season.

For the Cougars, Kagen Wren led the ground attack with 101 yards rushing. Jayden Jackson-Ray added 30 yards rushing and Ryker Martin had 22 yards rushing. Joshua Winkler caught one pass for 11 yards.
Dalton Smith led the Cougars with eight total tackles. Ladd Hampton and Jackson-Ray both finished with seven total tackles. Kaiden Asche and Kyler Leary both added four total tackles.
Franklin County 21 Greensburg 7
Host Franklin County jumped out to a 14-0 lead at the half en route to a 21-7 victory against Greensburg. The Wildcats improve to 4-2 on the season while the Pirates drop to 0-6.
Greensburg quarterback Levi Muckerheide completed 11-of-16 passes for 108 yards with one touchdown and one interception. Tyler Williams caught a 31-yard touchdown pass from Muckerheide in the fourth quarter to cut the Franklin County lead to 14-7.

Austin Cruz led the Pirates with 61 yards rushing. Carson Kilgore added 46 yards rushing and 53 yards receiving. Ethan Bishop caught four passes for 18 yards and Eli Powers had one reception.
Franklin County’s Parker Gillman rushed for 178 yards and two touchdowns. Mason Wewe rushed for 93 yards and one touchdown.
Lawrenceburg 48 Batesville 6
On the road at Class 3A No. 7 Lawrenceburg, the Bulldogs were defeated 48-6. Batesville’s record evens at 3-3. The Tigers improve to 5-1.
Lawrenceburg quarterback Crue Gilmour passed for 190 yards with four touchdowns and one interception. Gilmour also rushed for 72 yards and one touchdown. Brogan Wynn had one passing touchdown and 52 yards rushing. Qain Foster added a rushing touchdown for the Tigers. Jacob Becker (2), Keaten McGrath, Campbell Williams and Mason Manford all caught TD passes for Lawrenceburg.

Batesville’s defense was led by Kaden Vogelsang with nine total tackles. Ethan Schneider added eight total tackles. Trenton Jordan and Brycin Hoegeman both had seven total tackles. Aiden Greiwe had a quarterback sack and Jordan picked off a Lawrenceburg pass.
Lapel 41 Rushville 8
Visiting Class 2A No. 3 Lapel scored 28 points in the first half and 13 in the third quarter en route to the 41-8 victory at Rushville Friday. The Bulldogs improve to 6-0 while the Lions fall to 1-5.
Lapel quarterback Devin Craig was 10-of-15 passing for 268 yards and five touchdowns. Andrew Evelo (2), Jaxon Cripe, Reed Hamilton and Griffen Stow were all on the receiving end of Craig TD passes.

Sam Pavey led the Lions’ defense with six total tackles. Owen Zachery added five total tackles. Ryder Hatten had three total tackles. Ethan Wehr, Kaleb Amos and Casey Monroe all added two total tackles.
