According to multiple reports, former Alabama Crimson Tide football player Rob Ezell is set to become the next offensive coordinator of the Wake Forest Demon Deacons.

Ezell, who has also spent time in Tuscaloosa as a coach, previously served in the same role during the 2024 season at South Alabama.

During his collegiate playing days, Ezell was a walk-on at Alabama for four seasons from 2007-10. After that, Ezell went into coaching shortly after in which he began at Alabama as a student assistant in 2011 before spending from 2012-14 at Colorado State as a graduate assistant.

After, Ezell eventually returned to Alabama as a graduate assistant in 2015-16, and then spent from 2017-20 as an analyst in Tuscaloosa. Ezell would depart Tuscaloosa once again in 2021, this time going to South Alabama to serve as the tight ends coach on current Crimson Tide defensive coordinator Kane Wommack’s staff with the Jaguars through 2023.

This past year was Ezell’s first as the offensive coordinator with the Jaguars, leading South Alabama to an average of 34.4 PPG to rank No. 22 nationally.
