Former Bakersfield Condors forward Brad Malone announced his retirement from hockey Thursday.

Having spent the 2023-24 season as captain of the Condors, Malone collected three goals and 15 assists for 18 points in 49 regular season games.
Drafted by the Colorado Avalanche in the fourth round of the 2007 NHL Draft, Malone would go on to play a total of 217 career NHL regular season games. Over that span, he scored 14 goals and added 18 assists for 32 points.
A product of Miramichi, N.B., Malone enjoyed a 13-year pro career that saw him suit up for the Avalanche, Carolina Hurricanes, Edmonton Oilers as well as the Lake Erie Monsters, Hershey Bears, Chicago Wolves and the Condors.
As Malone officially hangs up the skates, he will be joining the OHL’s Oshawa Generals as a player development coach. Being someone who enjoyed a successful pro career, Malone will be a valuable addition to the team.
