
MADISON – Andrew Rohde is coming home.
The former standout at Brookfield Central has committed to play for the Wisconsin men’s basketball team next season. On3 reported the news. Rohde posted the report on his Instagram on Thursday evening with the caption “Blessed”.

The 6-foot-6 guard is the first known player Greg Gard has added for the upcoming season from the transfer portal. He has one season of eligibility left.
Rohde played his first season of college ball at St. Thomas in Minnesota and the past two seasons at Virginia. This year he averaged 9.3 points, 2.9 rebounds and 4.3 assist per game for the Cavaliers.

In league games he ranked first in the ACC in assist-turnover ratio (3.4-to-1) and ranked fifth in assists (5.2 apg). His overall season numbers in those categories of 2.4-to-1 and 4.3 ranked fifth and seventh, respectively, in the conference.
Rohde also developed into a high-level three-point shooter this year. After hitting 29.6% of his attempts during his first two seasons, he shot 41.3% (43 of 104) from beyond the arc this season.

News of Rohde’s commitment came a few hours after Badgers sophomore John Blackwell announced that he will enter the NBA draft but maintain his college eligibility
The Badgers have lost three players to the transfer portal: guards Daniel Freitag and Camren Hunter and forward Chris Hodges.
