Former Canadiens Goaltender Makes The Highlights Reel

by

More often than not, making the highlights reel is good news, but it wasn’t for former Montreal Canadiens goaltender Charlie Lindgren. The netminder is not having a bad season so far, he had a 5-5-0 record with a 2.64 goals-against average and a .901 save percentage before last night’s game, but he’ll want to forget about last night’s match.

In a game that didn’t lack scoring and with the score level at 3-3, the Washington Capitals goaltender gifted the Tampa Bay Lightning the lead. He came out of his crease to play the puck in front of the net, there was no pressure whatsoever on him, and somehow, he backhanded it in his own net with authority.

Thankfully for Lindgren, his team had his back and the Capitals were able to come back and not only tie up the game, but also take a 5-4 lead with less than four minutes left on the clock. The Caps hung on for dear life when the Bolts pulled their goalie, and Lindgren signed his sixth win on the year.

Chances are his teammates will be making fin of him about this for quite some time, especially since in the end, there was no harm done. The joys of being part of a team…
