Former Colorado State star McKenna Hofschild wins national title as assistant with UConn

Former Colorado State basketball star McKenna Hofschild is now a national champion.

Hofschild’s sensational playing career ended after the 2023-24 season and she joined the UConn women’s basketball team as a graduate assistant this season.

UConn beat South Carolina 82-59 Sunday to capture the 12th national title for the Huskies.

Hofschild and UConn star Paige Bueckers are both from Minnesota and played youth basketball together.

Hofschild starred for four seasons as a Ram, finishing with 779 assists (6.7 per game) and 2,162 points (18.6 per game) at CSU.
