Rick Pitino and the St. John’s men’s basketball team have dominated the NCAA transfer portal.
The Red Storm have the No. 1 incoming transfer portal class after finishing a historic season. St. John’s earned the Big East Tournament title for the first time since 2000.

While it’s been fairly positive news surrounding the St. John’s men’s basketball program throughout the offseason, Pitino suffered a blow via the transfer portal.
Former blue-chip recruit Jaiden Glover left the Red Storm after his freshman season.
According to Dushawn London, Glover announced that he would be transferring to St. Joe’s to continue his college basketball career.
Glover originally committed to St. John’s as a four-star prospect, ranked as the No. 16 power forward and the No. 55 overall player in the class of 2024, per 247Sports.
Before announcing his commitment to decision to St. John’s, Glover received plenty of offers from power programs such as Ohio State, Maryland and Villanova.

During his freshman season at St. John’s, Glover posted 2.2 points, 0.2 rebounds and 0.3 assists per game.

He struggled to consistently crack the lineup on the conference championship team, posting 6.4 minutes per game in his first collegiate playing year.
While Pitino will be missing Glover, who was once one of the highest-ranked players to commit to St. John’s, the Red Storm have been impressive in the transfer portal.
Pitino has recently picked up transfer portal commitments from former five-stars Ian Jackson and Dillon Mitchell, as well as Bryce Hopkins and Joson Sanon.
