As the former Iowa women’s basketball assistant leaves for the head coaching role at Florida Gulf Coast, Raina Harmon made sure to pen a thoughtful goodbye message to the Hawkeyes‘ program and faithful.
In her statement, she started by sharing how thankful she is for being able to serve on the Hawkeyes coaching staff and be able to grow as a coach and person during her eight years at Iowa.

Harmon continued to thank the former players she coached along the way, Jan Jensen and Lisa Bluter, her fellow assistant coaches, and the fans for making her experience with the program so special.
During her eight-year tenure at Iowa, Harmon helped the Hawkeyes to a 208-63 record and five Big Ten Conference titles, including back-to-back trips to the national championship game in 2023 and 2024.
With Harmon now preparing for her first season as head coach of the Eagles, Iowa will look to replace her voice on Jan Jensen’s coaching staff as the Hawkeyes look to build off their late-season success with a talented incoming class conjoining with an experienced roster.
