A former Spartan is heading back to the transfer portal despite being out of eligibility.
After a pair of standout years with Butler, former Michigan State forward Pierre Brooks II will reportedly enter the transfer portal. Brooks is out of eligibility based on current NCAA rules, but there is a legal push for eligibility to be expanded to five years which could open the door for Brooks and other seniors to play one more season of college basketball.

Sam Kayser of League Ready reported the notable transfer news on Brooks.
Brooks played two seasons at Michigan State from 2021 to 2023 before he transferred to Butler for the last two seasons. While at Michigan State, Brooks was primarily a bench player, recording only 2.4 points across 9.5 minutes per game in his 55 career appearances. Once transferring to Butler, Brooks experienced more success, starting all 68 games and averaging 15 points per game.
