
Four Drury women’s basketball players were selected as Academic All-District performers by the College Sports Communicators. The CSC announced their 2024-25 women’s basketball Academic All-District team last week.
To be eligible for this honor, players must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 and achieve success on the court throughout the season. Student-athletes must also be at least a sophomore academically and athletically.

Anna Hitt was named to the team for the second time. The senior guard from Ozark is majoring in Biology. Hitt was a third-time all-Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) selection for the second time in her career. This season, she started all 30 games Drury played, averaging 8.5 points and 6.5 rebounds. Hitt eclipsed 400 career rebounds this season.
Senior guard Caitlynn Daniels made Academic All-District for the second consecutive season.
Senior guard Caitlynn Daniels was on the team for the second consecutive season. The Robins, Iowa, native got a degree in Finance and is currently getting a Master’s in Communications. This season, Daniels has been named an honorable mention all-American, second-team all-region, GLVC all-tournament team, and first-team all-GLVC. Daniels finished the season averaging 14.2 points, 6.4 assists, and 2.2 steals per game. On Jan. 11, Daniels registered the program’s fourth-ever triple-double against Missouri S&T with 10 points, 10 rebounds, and 11 assists.
Nixa product Rhi Gibbons was named to the team for the first time in her career. The sophomore guard is studying biology. This season, Gibbons was a first-team all-GLVC selection, averaging 13.8 points and 3.6 assists in 27.4 minutes per game. She shot 36% from three, 48% from the field, and 83% from the free-throw line.

Aiden Moxness was named to the academic all-district team for the first time in her career. Moxness is studying Finance with a minor in Accounting. The Lenexa, Kansas, native shot 61% from the field this season while averaging four rebounds.
Zach Howell selected as an Academic All-District honoree
Drury guard Zach Howell was named to the Academic All-District by the College Sports Communicators on Tuesday.
Howell played in all 27 games for the Panthers and averaged 13.2 points, 4.6 rebounds, and shot 36 percent from three-point range. The sophomore from Springfield Catholic had two 25-point games and topped 20 points seven times. Howell was in his first season at Drury after transferring from Milwaukee.

Howell is majoring in Business.
Drury pickleball placed two at national championships
Drury University made a statement at the American Pickleball Players National Collegiate Championships, held last weekend in Cape Coral, Florida, with standout performances from Beth Matas Martin, Tammy Eliasova, and Will Lieberman.
Matas Martin and Eliasova battled through a competitive field to claim the bronze medal in women’s doubles, securing their podium finish with a victory over the Florida Gators.
In men’s singles, Will Lieberman delivered a dominant performance throughout the tournament, ultimately securing the APP National Collegiate Championship title after defeating a singles player from the University of Virginia in the finals.

Drury’s pickleball program is in its first year with the university.
